At
the age of seven, Clarice was thrilled to get her
first dog: a pull-toy that looked like a Scotty.
This
began her life-long interest in dogs. She spent
summers with grandparents that had working farm
dogs and a fox terrier. Clarice got involved in
obediance training, field training for field trials
and hunt tests, judging, and teaching puppy kindergarten.
Teaching and working with kids in 4-H dog classes
are her special loves.
Clarice
has written several books currently or soon to be
in print:
How
to Raise a Puppy You Can Live With (4th edition,
over 300,000 copies sold!)
Retriever Puppy Training, The Right Start for
Hunting (2nd edition, Fall '07)
A Dog is a Dog and That's What Makes Him So Special
(Winter '08)
Clarice's
current project is a fiction book for children about
Mitzi, a Dachshund who drives her family crazy.
